La maison d’édition Touchstone Books soutenue par Simon & Schuster publiera le livre. Marcus J. Moore a annoncé la nouvelle via Twitter, tweetant avec un bref synopsis. D’ailleurs ce projet biographique tombe à pic, car Kendrick Lamar a été sacré grand gagnant du Prix Pulitzer 2018.
